A mouse took a stroll….

On Tuesday 4 March, we went into the deep, dark wood and met a fox, an owl and a snake. They all wanted to eat the little brown mouse, but he was much too clever for them!

Julia Donaldson’s Gruffalo is one of the best known children’s books, and a delight to read again and again. All the children enjoyed the story, and the many activities related to it.

We made Gruffalo masks, little mice from cardboard tubes, and finger puppets of all the characters in the book. We also made a Gruffalo with moving arms and legs, and tested our knowledge of the story with picture crossword puzzles, word searches and activity sheets.

We’ll be back in Ziggies After School Club on Tuesday 11th March, when we’ll be finding out ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ (by Maurice Sendak). So if you’re in year 1 and would like to join us, please come along with your grown up and any brothers or sisters you may have. Bring a copy of the book (if you have one). We’ll be in the middle block hall from 3.15 – 4.15pm.

Hope to see you there.
