This week in Ziggies, we read ‘Zog’ written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler. This is a lovely story about Zog going to Dragon School and learning all the things dragons need to know. The illustrations are wonderful and once again the children had the task of finding the Gruffalo hidden somewhere amongst the colourful pictures. This task proved more challenging for the adults than the children!
After the
story we made fire breathing dragons and designed dresses for princesses. We
made knights with moving arms and legs, and colourful, glittery stars like the
gold one, which Zog was so pleased to get in Dragon School.
We also did
word searches, answered question sheets to test how well we listened to the
story, and coloured lots of dragon pictures.
Ziggies will
be back straight after half term (Tuesday 3 June) when we’ll be reading ‘Doing
the Animal Bop’ by Jan Ormerod. So if you’re in year 1 and would like to join
us, please come along with your grown up and any brothers or sisters you may
have. Bring a copy of the book (if you have one). We’ll be in the middle block
hall from 3.15 – 4.15pm.
Hope to see
you there.
