Doing the Animal Bop

This week in Ziggies, we did the animal bop! This is a lovely rhyming book, written by Jan Ormerod, about different animals dancing in their own way. After reading it, we all tried out some of the moves that the animals did.

Our craft activities this week included CD mice to hang up and catch the light, a cut out snake and a penguin. These animals were all featured in the book, along with many others. We also made ducks out of crackers and soft cheese, which tasted delicious.

As usual there were word searches, question sheets to test how well we listened to the story, and lots of pictures to colour.

Ziggies will be back next week (Tuesday 10 June) when we’ll be reading ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Rescue’ by Ronda & David Armitage. So if you’re in year 1 and would like to join us, please come along with your grown up and any brothers or sisters you may have. Bring a copy of the book (if you have one). We’ll be in the middle block hall from 3.15 – 4.15pm.
